Camp Wild is owned and operated by Escot Ltd at Escot Park near Ottery St Mary in Glorious east Devon. We are looking for energetic, passionate, creative and fun staff for our Camp Wild programme based at Yurt Village at Escot Park. The role of lead instructor is vital in the delivery of an excellent and professional residential environmental education programme to children between the ages of 8 and 12 and day sessions for 6 and 7 year olds. The aim of our programme is to connect children with the natural world by teaching hands on thematic education in the countryside and on the Devon coastline.

We ask that applicants for this role have a degree with at least 2 years environmental education teaching experience OR a PGCE and a passion for the outdoors. You must also be in possession of a first aid certificate including paediatric CPR. We are looking for charismatic and enthusiastic instructors with a range of talents.

Staff training will take place during the week of July 18th and is a mandatory reqirement.

Hours: M-F 8/9am – 4/5pm, 1 or 2 evening programmes per week and 2 Saturday mornings in the Summer.

Camp Wild Evening Staff

We are looking for energetic, passionate, creative and fun staff for our Camp Wild programme based at Yurt Village at Escot Park. The aim of our programme is to connect children with the natural world by teaching hands on thematic education in the countryside and on the Devon coastline.

The role of the Camp Wild evening staff is vital in the after programme and evening care of children aged 7-12 years.

We ask that applicants for this role have a child care qualification or are working towards a degree or PGCE, are passionate about the outdoors, are willing to learn, and work well with others. You must also be in possession of a first aid certificate including paediatric CPR. We are looking for charismatic and enthusiastic people with a range of talents and love working with children.

Staff training will take place during the week of July 18th and is a mandatory requirement.

Hours are M-F 4pm -9.30 pm and 2/3 overnight sleep duties per week with one other staff member, (2 nights one week, 3 nights the next) finishing at 9am in the morning. You will also be reuired to stay for 2 or 3 Friday nights during the summer.

The sleep duty requires staff to sleep in the main yurt and support any children who may wake in the night needing the toilet or who are homesick. You will also be required to support the Camp Wild cook and with other evening staff, run night hikes/campfires and the Friday night bbq party.
